Placement:

1 verb, 1 place ...(in front of conjugated verb)

2 verbs, 2 places ...(in front of conjugated verb OR attached to second verb)

 

Order of pronouns-R I D

reflexive, indirect, direct

example:

El tira el bol a tí. ... He throws the ball to you.

replace direct object with a pronoun: lo

replace indirect object with a pronoun: te

Order of pronouns: RID

El te lo tira. (He throws it to you.)

Exception to placement rule:

If the DOP and IOP both start with 'L', make the first one into SE.

El tira el bol al gato.

replace direct object: lo

replace indirect object: le

both start with L, first one (IOP) changes to se

El se lo tira (He throws it to it)

Accents:

If the pronouns are attached to second verb, need to put an accent on verb to show original stress

Nosotros vamos a dárselo (We are going to give it to him)

Ellos van a mandármelas (They are going to send them to me)
