Informal (tú) commands

informal - use with people that you know or that are younger than you

this form only for affirmative commands

 

Formation of the tú command:

Use the él form of the verb in the present simple

Ejemplos:

¡Canta! = Sing!

¡Lee! = Read!

¡Escribe! = Write!

Irregular command forms:

hacer = haz
poner = pon
tener = ten
irse = vete
ir = ve
decir = di
venir = ven
salir = sal
ser = sé

Reflexive verbs:

Use él form of verb, but tú form of reflexive pronoun

Put reflexive pronoun after verb

Count back 3 vowels from end, add accent

Ejemplos:

¡Levántate! = Stand up!

¡Despiértate! = Wake up!

¡Lávate los dientes! = Brush your teeth!
