Demonstrative Adjectives

• mean 'this, these, that, those' in English

•accompany a noun (all nouns in French have gender and number)

• agree in number (singular, plural) AND gender (masculine, feminine) with the noun

• to make that, those-add -là to the end of the noun

masculine: ce

masculine, before vowel: cet

feminine: cette

plural: ces

Examples:

ce livre = this book

cette porte = this door

cet accent = this accent

ces livres = these books

ce livre-là = that book

cette porte-là = that door

ces livres-là = those books
