Umax Vistascan Program |

A. Make sure that you are using a computer which has a UMAX scanner attached to it. If not, go to the correct computer, turn it on, and return to this spot on the Internet.
THERE IS NO ON/OFF SWITCH ON THE SCANNER. THE COMPUTER WILL ACTIVATE THE SCANNER WHEN YOU TURN IT ON.
B. Click/hold the Apple menu in the upper left corner of your screen. When the Apple menu drops down, slide the mouse down to the Programs sub menu. When the Programs sub menu pops out to the right, slide the mouse over to highlight UMAX and let go of the mouse button. This will load the program for you.
C. When the program has loaded, you will see a window on the sreen that is mostly blue. At the top of the window, you will see two buttons; one says BEGINNER and the other says ADVANCED. Click on the BEGINNER button.

Above, you can see the Umax Scanner screen display. The only thing that will appear differently in your screen display is the scanned picture that appears in the scan field on the left. The last item scanned always appears in the scan field until you scan something new. Then your scan will appear there the next time the scanner program is activated. Here, we can see that the last student to use the program scanned a small square blue object or picture. |
You have now successfully startd to UMAX Vistascan program. You are now ready to load a drawing, photograph, or sheet of text onto the scanner bed. Click the right red arrow below to go to the next lesson.
