Make sure that you are using a computer which has a Sharp Slimcam video camera connected to it. If necessary, go to one of those computers and return to this location on the Internet.
A. First make sure the connections are good and that the camera powers up.

| Check to see that the yellow video cord coming from the back of the computer is plugged into the matching yellow video socket on the side of the camera. | Make sure that the transformer is plugged into a power socket in the wall. Then check to see that the power cord coming from the transformer is inserted firmly into the power socket in the back of the camera. | Locate the power switch, which is located at the top-front area of the camera. Hold the tiny green button down with your finger and slide the power switch forward. When the power comes on, a little red light should appear in front of the power switch. |
B. Make sure the lenscover is removed.

| Grab the lens cover as shown above. Press the tabs inward to remove the lens cover. |
C. Make sure the eyepiece is extended and set up properly.

| If the eyepiece is folded down, gently pull it outward and upward into its operational position. | If you are more comfortable looking through the lens with your right eye, leave the lens at the innermost setting. If you are more comfortable looking through the lens with your left eye, gently extend the eyepiece outward as shown above. | Underneath the eyepiece is the diopter adjustment lever. Move this lever back or forth to make the image in the eyepiece less blurry. |
D. Since the camera has an auto-focus feature, the only adjustment you will have to do is to zoom in and out.

The zoom switch is located on top of the lens assembly. Press the W end of the switch to compose a picture that includes more of the room or shows many items or people. Press the T end of the switch to compose a picture that shows less of the room or only shows an individual item or person. |
E. Be familiar with the tripod adjustments.

| Locate the horizontal lock. Set this screw so that it is slightly loose. Now you will be able to "pan" left and right. | Locate the vertical lock. Set this screw slightly loose. Now you will be able to "climb the walls" with your camera. |
