Throughout the month, our schools will celebrate by engaging in activities ranging from studying prominent African Americans to hosting events that include song, dance and poetry.

Elementary Schools of Choice 


VITA Elementary is a project-based learning school of choice with a focus on innovation, technology, arts and the development of downtown community partnerships that enhance student learning.

VITA is hosting an open house on March 12 and April 16 at 5 p.m. Spanish and Russian interpreters will be in attendance. Please plan to attend only one session and  RSVP  since space is limited.


Ruth Bader Ginsburg Elementary is home to Vancouver Public Schools’ first fully dual-language Spanish/English choice school and boasts a culturally rich environment.

RBG is hosting parent information sessions on March 14 and April 18 at 5 p.m. The presentation will be shared in English and Spanish.

SALMON CREEK ROBOTICS TEAM 
WINS FIRST PLACE AT LEGO TOURNAMENT
In December, the Salmon Creek Elementary School Robotics Club competed in the First® Lego® League Challenge and received first place for their innovation project entry, a virtual museum to showcase students’ arts and hobbies. They also earned 5th Place in Robot Coding and 3rd Place overall. 

The team did so well, they are one of six elementary schools heading to a state championship competition with 53 other teams.

GANA EL PRIMER LUGAR EN EL TORNEO LEGO
En diciembre, el Club de Robótica de la Escuela Primaria Salmon Creek compitió en el First® Lego® League Challenge y recibió el primer lugar por su proyecto de innovación , un museo virtual para mostrar las artes y pasatiempos de los estudiantes. КОМАНДА РОБОТОТЕХНИКИ САЛМОН-КРИК
ЗАНИМАЕТ ПЕРВОЕ МЕСТО НА ТУРНИРЕ LEGO
В декабре клуб робототехники начальной школы Салмон-Крик принял участие в соревновании First® Lego® League Challenge и получил первое место за свой инновационный проект — виртуальный музей, демонстрирующий творчество и хобби учащихся. Они также заняли 5-е место в категории «Кодинг роботов» и 3-е место в общем зачете.

Команда справилась настолько хорошо, что стала одной из шести начальных школ, которые вместе с 53 другими командами примут участие в чемпионате штата.
